　　主角悍女Katarina出名潑辣，生男勿近，而她的妹妹Bianca卻是一位溫柔嫺婌的萬人迷。做父親的慘成禍心，或許受不了大女兒Katarina的氣焰凌遲，他居然徇私剝奪妹妹談戀愛的自由，直至姐姐嫁得出爲止。那些傾慕妹妹的衆生皆因此頭疼，苦思後度出一計，就是找一隻替死鬼娶姐姐。Katarina性格暴躁、脾氣倔強，找不到任何一個敢娶她的男人，在心不甘情不願的情況下，她嫁給了高大結實的大鬍子男人Petruchio。Petruchio一心要把Katarina訓練成百依百順的好妻子，所以他採取了“以暴制暴”的方式，最後終於馴服了Katarina的一身傲骨。
　　Franco Zeffirelli's adaptation of William Shakespeare's play about love and marriage. Shy Bianca and mean-spirited Katarina, are two daughters of the rich merchant, Baptista. Though Bianca is being courted by a number of young men, Baptista announces that she may not marry until Katarina is wed. None of the men in town are willing to marry Katarina, so Bianca remains unwed, until a scoundrel called Petruchio appears.
